Using a Test Key in Stripe

Overview

For Commercio Stores, you are able to setup and view test keys in Stripe for Stores that are still testing. This document walks through setting up test mode, viewing test API keys, and viewing transactions within Stripe.

Activating Test Mode

When a user logs into their Stripe account, they will need to toggle the Test mode button in the top right corner to on.

You can see it will then display a bar at the top that shows they are in test mode.

To the left of the Test Mode toggle, select Developers.

Reveal API Keys

When they get into the Developers screen, they will click the API Keys tab. This will reveal their test keys.

The Publishable Key will be visible, and they will have to click the Reveal button to retrieve the Secret Key.

View Transactions

Test transactions can be viewed just like the live transactions under the Transaction tab to the left.

It will only affect the stores test credentials are added to.

Example: An has 10 stores, 8 are live and 2 are testing. If they add the test credentials to only those two stores those transactions will appear on the test side of her stripe account. The other 8 will go to the live account.
