Store Level > Products > Minimum Order Quantity

Overview

An order minimum may be set for products within a store. This allows the customer to require “x” amount of an item to be added to a cart before the user can check out successfully.

How to set order minimum

Order minimum is established when a product is added into a store. When it is set, this means that there is a minimum for each individual order of this product, not for all products within the store.

To add an order minimum to a new or existing product:

1. From the product, navigate to the Pricing TabA close-up of a white background

2. In the Minimum Order Quantity and Quantity breaks section:

  • Toggle Disable minimum order quantity to No (this should already be the default setting)
  • Add in the minimum order number in the Minimum Order Quantity field

3. At the bottom of the page, select Go to Next Step to save

What happens when the minimum is not met?

Customers do have the ability to add a product to their cart with a quantity that is lower than the minimum set. However, when they go into the cart and select “proceed to check out” they will be prompted to adjust the quantity before moving on. The customer will not be able to check out unless they adjust the quantity to be at or more than the minimum.
