Store Level > Users > User Login Settings

This screen allows you to customize the login options and choices that will be displayed to your customers on the login page.

mceclip7.pngPlease be aware that if your store's website visibility and security settings are configured to 'browse before login' or 'login before browse,' customers will be prompted to either log in or create a new account.

The User Login Settings screen is accessed from the Store Level > Users > User Login Settings.

Accepted Logins

  • Accept email login
  • Accept alternate ID login
  • Accept either email or alternate ID login

Choose the type(s) of user logins to accept for your store.

When establishing user accounts for your store, either on behalf of your customers or by permitting customers to create their own, you have the option to accept either the email linked to their account, an alternate ID, or both as login credentials in this section.

Activating the Alternate ID login will cause the Alternate ID Settings section to be displayed at the bottom of the page (#3).

Login Choices

  • Sign Up - Allows new visitors to create an account in the store.
  • Forgot Password - Allows users to trigger an email with a link to reset their password.

Determine if new visitors to your store are allowed to create an account. If you decide to enable account creation for new customers, it's important to view the video on Store Level > Users > New User Defaults linked below.

Additionally, you have the option to provide a Forgot Password feature for customers to reset their passwords.

Alternate ID Settings

  • Alternate ID Display Name
  • Alternate ID Editable - Users can change their alternate ID from their profile.
  • Alternate ID Read-Only - Alternate ID assigned and cannot be changed from the user profile.

These settings become available when you enable Alternate ID login in option #1. In this section, you can assign an alternate ID display name and determine if customers are allowed to modify their IDs from their profile.
