Advanced options are flexible, non-destructive, priced or unpriced options that can be used for simple product customization, add-on components, capturing customer preferences, or collecting additional information at the line-item level. Start by creating Advanced Options Templates here.

Once you've created your decoration methods, you can edit your products to specify which decoration methods apply to each one. This way, you can ensure that each product has the appropriate decoration options available.

When you edit an existing template, the changes are populated to all instances of the template used in specific products.

 

For decoration template modifications, the changes are effective immediately, although previously placed orders are not impacted. Also note that if this template was used to create other templates, changes are only applied to this template and will not affect the other templates.

When creating a template, you are prompted to create a Decoration Template or a Custom Template.

Decoration Template

You can create decoration option templates for single or multiple locations on a product. For example, the front of a baseball hat would be a single location, while the left front pocket and the back of a polo shirt on the same template would be multiple locations.

Regardless of the option you choose, you will need to fill in the details for the decoration, cost, and supplier, and provide one or more images as needed.

After creating the template, use the Edit Product option to add the template to the product. You can also assign the template when adding a product by using the Advanced Options dropdown.

Custom Template

Creating custom templates allows buyers to personalize products, such as selecting a shirt size or adding a personal touch. When setting up a custom template, you can choose the type of options available, as illustrated in the image below.

The setup depends on the selected option type.

After creating the template, click "Assign Template to Products" to quickly add the Advanced Option Template to multiple products. If the selected products already have advanced options, those options will be replaced.

You can also assign templates to a product when adding or editing the product by using the "Advanced Options" dropdown.
